Tips On How To Become More Grateful

Do you ever wonder why some people are living a happy a life while some are not? Living in the 21st century has been tougher than we think. We face daily challenges in order for us to reach that million-dollar dream. We all have that dream to travel the world, drive that fancy car, swim in an infinity pool staring at the Caribbean, dive at crystal clear beaches and drink champagne under the bright moon light celebrating success in life.

Okay, enough fancy words that make you imagine you’re already a millionaire but hey, imagination can also be a good technique. More on that in another article. On the serious note, try to observe people closely. Observe the reactions of the happy and successful people versus the reaction of the unhappy and broke people each time they face certain situations.

For example, how would a certain person react when he is caught in traffic? Is he anxious or totally pissed out uttering flowery words and making the situation worse? Or is he acting calm, smiling or just keep his cool composure while listening to his favorite music and ignoring all the negativities caused by the traffic?

You see, our attitude in every situation determines all future circumstances. We all want to live a happy life and for us to start manifesting such a happy life, we need to be grateful in all things big or small. I mean literally all, and yes, that includes your problems as well.

So here are some things to follow in order to practice an attitude of gratitude:

Say a gratitude prayer – do this the first thing in the morning when you wake up and before you sleep. Why pray and say thank you in the morning? You must realize that not all people wake up after their night’s sleep. You must be grateful that God has given you another day to live and to spend time with the people you love. Being grateful the first thing in the morning will also brighten your day so start your day with an attitude of gratitude. Also, before you sleep, always include in your prayers all the things you are grateful for. Be grateful for all the things that happened during the day whether it be good or bad just say thank you.

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

Have a gratitude journal – a gratitude journal is just an ordinary notebook. You list down all the things you are grateful for everyday. You may list 5, 10 or 20 things you are thankful about. It’s up to you. Why do this? It helps you remember that despite all your misfortunes, you still have a lot of things to be thankful for.

Stop complaining and always say thank you – whether it be verbal or just in your mind, say thank you. If something good happens to you because of someone always remember to thank that person. And control yourself to never complain because when you complain you are not being grateful. Think of it this way, have you been to a restaurant and the waiter serves the food late or the food doesn’t taste good? Do you want to complain? Think of the people outside who don’t have money and can’t even afford to eat in a restaurant. Those people scavenge for left overs while you are there sitting inside a restaurant. A late serving or a food that doesn’t meet your expecting surely isn’t worse than eating other people’s left overs right?

You want complain about the traffic but think of other people who can’t even afford to buy their own car or commute. They just walk miles to reach their destinations. You complain about your job giving you so much stress but other people throw away their principles and dignity just to earn some money and feed their family. Do you even realize that? Somewhere in India, people in a certain town dive in deep dirty sewer water with no protections just to clean up some clogged objects underneath and they’re paid a very small amount of money. So if you keep on complaining about your job, remember this story. Just know that the things you complain about are what other unfortunate people are dying to have.

Immerse yourself with inspirational, motivational and gratitude resources – You may follow a lot fan pages in Facebook that constantly posts about gratitude. You may follow The Secret, Rhonda Byrne, Brian Tracy, Wayne Dyer, Bob Proctor, Peng Joon, etc just to name a few. Doing so will constantly overwhelm you with a lot of positive energy.

Give back – giving has so many forms not just giving a thing. It can be your advice to help and comfort people, give your time, give help in any forms within your capacity to do so and give those who are in need. All your life you have been so blessed, regardless of what happened to you. Share those blessings to others believing that by God will reward you more but when you give, give because you want to give not because you are expecting something in return. If you think your life has been miserable lately, you are still blessed enough to even use a computer or a smart phone to read this blog and obtain this knowledge of gratitude. There are still millions of people out there who never even got a chance to touch a computer or hold a smartphone throughout their lives. You have been blessed enough to be educated and know how to read this blog.

“I give not because I have much but because I know exactly how it feels to have nothing.” -Diva Fierce

Appreciate others – Have you ever experienced giving something to somebody and that somebody tells you thank you? How would you feel? Happy, right? That’s exactly the reason why you must learn to appreciate others. Appreciate the people around you, congratulate them, give them sincere compliments, and appreciate the things they do for you and it will end up with them giving you more.

Meditation – you may choose a quiet and peaceful place, preferably your room at night before you sleep, sit and relax. Close your eyes and imagine you already have all the things you have been asking for. Feel it “as if” they are already yours. Feel the feeling of being so grateful for already having all the things you prayed for. The keyword here is “feel as if”. By doing so this will enable the Forces of Creation to manifest all your desires because you are being grateful.

To live a grateful life is to obey the “Law of Gratitude” for which God has put and govern us. It is part of the many Universal Laws of Prosperity and Abundance. If only people will stop complaining and learn to appreciate the things that they have they will be blessed with even more. How can you be worthy to receive bigger blessings if you are not even grateful for the little things that you have?

Do you want to be really happy? Start to live a life with an attitude of gratitude. Believe it.
